Résumé

This study investigated the microbial load in some internal organisms (liver, lungs and heart) of chicken (local and broiler) in Jos Metropolis. Organ meat samples (n = 90) were collected aseptically from three different markets namely, Faringada (n = 30), Terminus (n = 30) and Bukuru (n = 30). All samples were subjected to aerobic plate count, coliform plate count, shigella and salmonella detection. In terms of breed type, the lung, liver and heart of local chicken had the highest total Aerobic Plate Count (APC) of 187.80, 73.47 and 14.40 (
